Exercise has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember.  I was a gymnast at school and have always been physically active, playing many sports, including hockey, netball, badminton and squash. Like many women, I started doing aerobics in the late 70’s but it wasn’t giving me the shape (or the buzz) I wanted, so I started training with weights and the transformation to a tighter, leaner body shape was immediate.

This outcome cemented my belief that all women should be doing some form of resistance training, be it weights, tubes, suspension training or just body weight circuits – you’ll never develop that tight, toned look on a treadmill.

In fact, the change in how I looked was so dramatic that I was offered the opportunity to compete on the natural body-building circuit, however, personal commitments – bringing up a family and running a business – curtailed this chance but I continued training nevertheless.  After my family had grown up I finally decided to become a full-time gym & fitness instructor and I’m now doing what I love most – training people, helping them to feel the same buzz and develop the same confidence about themselves that I did over 30 years ago.

I’ve spent countless hours both training and teaching all over Sheffield and the main thing that I’ve learnt is that – regardless of your personal reasons for wanting to either train or diet – you’re trying to make a positive change about your life, to make an effort and do something that’s worthwhile and important to you.

Feeling good about yourself doesn’t always come easy but trust me, it’s well worth the effort.
